Got back from Beijing after travelling for approx. 22 hours... fun! Had a great time, can't wait for my next trip ;) Walking the wall is one of the most unique moments I've ever experienced.. but it's not for everyone.

Anyway, back to work for me tomorrow, if anyone is in Antwerp, aren't the road works on the ring fun? Thankfully I've moved and don't have to travel down the ring every morning anymore, would probably end up taking me 2 hours to get to work (60km).

I'll leave you with two pics:

Guess I'd better write some crap since I've been slacking off..
I'm off to China for a 3 week vacation next week, am looking forward to that, since I've only had 8 days off from work in the past 13 months.
I also moved out into my own place, drop by if you're about, I always enjoy the attention of a good stalker. We can go for ice-cream or something. I'm still working for Sun, still waiting for my car to get delivered, still passively maintaining the ais ass of '99 page, and still generally not doing anything of great interest. But still feel free to drop by at some point and buy me dinner.

After BASM had a 36+ hour downtime without giving a single explenation, I changed hosting to linuxsystems.be -- it's blatantly faster than the cludge that were the basm servers, and they're hosted in Brussels so if there ever IS anything wrong, at least the admins wont need 6 hours to just get to their server room!
All work and no play make Niels a dull boy.

Bored now.

Expect weeble.be to act funny (that includes e-mail) as my account expires tomorrow and I've not gotten around extending my hosting yet.

Monkey see, monkey do.

Holy crap the AIS gym is huge.

Going to Munich for the week today, for training for my job, so I'll be back on Friday, try not to break anything while I'm gone, I'll be checking my mail once in a while hopefully.

Oh, and I'm going to the Marilyn Manson concert in Leuven in June; and I'm absolutly terrified.

and there was much rejoicing..

But damnit I'm tired of waiting!
I've had an amazing opportunity, to work for Sun Microsystems, to get trained from the bottom up (in their graduate scheme). The first interview went really well, a few weeks ago now. I had the second interview last Friday, and it also went (in my opinion) very well. But there were 6 other candidates, which is actually quite a lot! I want this so badly, and the waiting is killing me! I'm meant to know by the end of this week, so the fact that I don't know by now (they usually tell the "winner" in advance) is probably a big ol hint that the job's not mine. But I neeeeeed this damnit!

So yeah, wish me luck, and if all goes well obviously I'll post here ;)

Good week.

Had a really good week, saw loads of friends, accomplished stuff, twas all good.

I got to meet a rock star though! Well, kind of. Maria's boyfriend is a lead singer in a band called Zaccharia, you should definatly check their site out, download their mp3s (not my kind of music, but I'm starting to actually like Silverscreen Nicotine, but perhaps that's because it's been playing on loop for the past hour ;) Anyway, browse their website, listen to their mp3s, and hopefully enjoy it! And support them if you enjoy the music!

Early Christmas present

Jenna and David have announced their engagement, they're planning on a May 2004 wedding.
Jenna & David in front of a bench. No, really, look! There they are! All happy and stuff
I'm probably going to get shot for posting this picture.

Edit (2003-01-22 16:55): So, something went very wrong, and the wedding's off :( And I was looking forward to a visit to Texas! Ah well.

Christmas!

Garfield Christmas anticipation

Hooray for Christmas! Added the little Santa hat on the W in the logo in anticipation :)

For some reason my AIS contacts page has been purged from Google, so I'm going to pimp it some more.

Who says you can't get rich in education?
2002-12-02 16:19:48
Got a letter today from AIS, my old school, this morning. They're asking me to donate some money to help refurbish the "old" bicentennial building, which I think is that building we cunningly referred to as "the gym."

Have they been handing out crack to the Admin. staff again?

I very much doubt any recent alumni would donate any money to the school. The fees were totally ridiculous, the headmaster overpaid, and to come and beg for some more of my money is absurd- where the hell do they keep putting all the money? I did a bit of math. Now, unless they've decided to pave the floor with bricks of solid gold, something's very, very wrong.

I seriously doubt they'll get more money from alumni than it cost them to post all the letters.

Boredom strikes
2002-11-12 17:22:12
I was incredibly bored this afternoon, so decided to go through my yearbook and put in a bunch of people's names, it mostly didn't yield any results, except for a few that I was surprised at. Anyway to make things like that easier for others, I present the AIS class of 99 contacts page. The point of the page is for google to pick up everyone's name, then on a boring Sunday when they search for their name, they'll find this page, contact me, and I put their details up. Then when other people search for themselves (or anyone else) hopefully they'll reach my page, and so on. Please link to this so google notices it, and ranks it higher.
Job Interviews
2002-10-01 15:39:39
After 30 odd applications, got 2 interviews, yay! One was yesterday, it went very well but I just don't think I'm the type of person they're looking for. The other is scheduled for Oct. 10 and it's with (are you sitting down?) Interbrew. Yes, the gods of beer that produce such beautful brews as Jupiler, Stella-Artois, Leffe, Hoegaarden, Beck's, Bass, the Labatte family of beers, and many more. And it's in Leuven, which means me = out of house. Wish me luck, I want this!
Rah!

Right, "finished" off the memories page(I was gonna add more, but it deemed too complicated to be woth it), now go read them or add a memory! To add a memory you need to use "memories" as the login, and the password is the 5 letter town that we lived in last year, starts with b(no caps) and rhymes with "mean". I don't think I could possibly have made it any easier ;)
